Psst ... want Whiteface tickets?

Ignore the thermometer. Unzip that snowsports bag and put on the boots, the helmet, the pants.

Carry around that snowboard, not that surfboard.

That's because Whiteface Mountain is sending out its Road Warrior team to find winter enthusiasts and give them lift tickets and other stuff.

The Whiteface Road Warriors have already been to the Million Dollar Beach, the Campgrounds, on Main Street, and at other locations in Lake George, N.Y., looking for those wearing winter gear. Those spotted were given a lift ticket to ski or ride Whiteface during the 2010-11 season.

The Whiteface Road Warriors will be out the remainder of this summer. From August 13 to 15, they will be in Albany, N.Y., at the Farmer's Market at the Empire State Plaza, Washington Park, Red Square (co-hosting the Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad). From August 20 to 22, they are schedule to be in Saratoga, N.Y.

This fall, trips are also planned to New York City and across the border into Canada.

The Whiteface Road Warriors can be followed on the Web by logging on to http://www.facebook.com/whiteface?ref=nf.
