Season Off to a Fast Then Slow Start in the Northeast

The skiing and riding season was off to a great start thanks to a fall snowstorm that dumped up to 14 inches of snow in some places.

This made for great openings for several mountains over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Then, a warm spell hit which limited the snow making abilities of most resorts. Temperatures reached into the 50’s at some places, leading Bonnie MacPherson from Okemo to post “I’m confused” on Facebook.

With colder temperatures returning, most places kicked in the snow making again.
